Seabuckthorn is a resistant, pioneer plant which likes the sun. This shrub can tolerate extreme temperatures ranging from -43°C to 40°C. Regarded as an "ambassador of life", the seabuckthorn grows on nutrient-poor land, as observed by the botanist W. Pelikan. Originating from the temperate and hot regions of the northern hemisphere to tropical Asia and Australia, the seabuckthorn is now cultivated in various regions of the world for its many food properties. In particular, its fruit is made into a juice and also used in the production of oil.
