However, there is nothing about this rather unremarkable bushy shrub from the Mediterranean that would seem to justify this reputation. That is, until you consider its many unique botanical features that could be regarded as a little “supernatural”: the Strawberry Tree is not only able to ripen its fruits in winter but also recolonize land ravaged by fire and even fight serious infections. Another unique feature is its small, round berries covered in tiny conical bumps which are known as Strawberry Tree fruit.
