The power of plants

Originating from the tropical regions of India, gymnema is a climbing plant with thick, shiny leaves which have been used in Ayurvedic medicine in India for around 2,000 years. In some countries it is known as the “sugar-destroying plant” since its leaves have the capacity to lower sugar levels in the blood.

Skincare benefits of Gymnema extract ( organic plant)

In cosmetics, gymnema (organic plant) extract is used for its energizing properties. It helps to stimulate and protect cytochrome c oxidase activity, contributing to the proper functioning of mitochondria. This powers the regeneration of ATP in cells, even when faced with various oxidizing stressors.

Responsible sourcing

Protecting soil and biodiversity is a long-standing commitment at Clarins. Our extract is obtained from gymnema grown in Vietnam in accordance with organic farming principles, meaning without chemical inputs or pesticide.
