The power of plants

With its ability to insert roots into the smallest crack of a rock to find the water it needs to grow, the Fig Tree is a true symbol of the will to survive. It is also a symbol of generosity, since it requires no special attention or care and yet produces an abundance of Figs, small downy fruits with a soft, sweet flesh and high nutritional value. Originating from the Middle East and Mediterranean basin, the Fig has been an integral part of the history of this region of the world since ancient times.

Responsible sourcing

Protecting the soil and biodiversity is a longstanding commitment at Clarins. That’s why we have always given priority to plant-based active ingredients sourced from organic agriculture, grown using sustainable farming methods that respect nature and the health of the soil. For certain plants like the Fig tree, we practice multi-sourcing meaning that we rely on both organic and non-organic extracts in order to ensure that the volume that we require for our products is met.
