The power of plants
The avocado, fruit of the avocado tree native to Central America, was considered sacred by the Aztecs. It was introduced to Europe in the 16th century and nicknamed "the American pear". Containing vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fatty acids, it is an almost complete food and has long been used as a treatment for migraines, respiratory disorders and skin diseases.
Skincare benefits of Avocado unsaponifiable
Avocado unsaponifiable (the precious part of the oil) promotes the synthesis of collagen I and fibrillin-1, helping to replenish the dermis and form elastic fibres. This encourages revitalization of the skin and helps keep it supple.
Responsible sourcing
The avocado unsaponifiable we use is the most precious fraction of the oils extracted from the avocado fruit. Growing these avocado trees has a positive impact on the local economy and minimizes depopulation by creating permanent jobs. Further, planting the avocado tree helps to combat soil erosion and create shady areas, protecting the environment from deforestation and the loss of natural habitats. Our partner is also involved in the co-recovery of avocados. By working to recover discarded fruit, it encourages a circular and sustainable economy.
